KennethNonyana
Kenneth Nonyana's deeply expressive wooden sculptures offer a poignant journey into the heart of the human spirit. His figures, etched with the marks of life's trials and triumphs, resonate with a profound emotional depth. Nonyana's work transcends mere representation, capturing the complexities of joy, sorrow, and the myriad emotions that colour our existence. Through his art, he invites us to connect with the universal human experience, finding solace and inspiration in the enduring strength that resides within us all. Each sculpture is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of art to illuminate our shared journey.

ThomasKubayi
Thomas Kubayi doesn't just carve wood; he listens to it. Each grain, knot, and weight speaks to him, whispering its secrets through texture and tone. For Thomas, carving is a process of revelation, a dialogue between artist and material. "It comes from your heart - you can't explain it," he says. "When I create a sculpture, I am writing a song, not in music, but with my hands." This ability to truly understand his medium, to hear the unique voice within each piece of wood, sets him apart. More than an artist, Thomas is a mentor, nurturing the next generation at the Vutsila School for the Arts, passing on not just technical skills but the very philosophy of his craft.

AmorousMaswanganye
Amorous Maswanganye, a talented young artist from Soutpansberg-Venda, captures the vibrant energy and cultural collisions of modern South Africa in his quirky and whimsical corkwood sculptures. With a keen eye and a generous heart, he acts as a social commentator, using his art to explore the complexities of life in a rapidly changing world. His colourful figures, often depicting scenes of everyday life with a touch of playful humour, give voice to the experiences of his generation. Through his art, Amorous invites us to see the world through fresh eyes, finding beauty and meaning in the midst of tumult and transformation. He is a storyteller in wood, a voice for his time.

PilatoBulala
In the heart of Tshivhuyuni Village, Pilato Bulala sees magic where others see scrap. This self-taught artist transforms discarded metal into whimsical "scraptures" - mystical birds from pistons, traditional women from crankshafts, and even fantastical flying machines. Pilato doesn't just recycle; he reinvents, breathing new life into forgotten materials and turning them into striking works of art that blend creativity, culture, and craftsmanship. With a playful eye for possibility, he finds stories waiting to be told in rusty wrenches and bicycle chains, proving that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. His art is a celebration of reinvention and the boundless power of imagination.
