Our Story

Community development through art.

We bring the timeless artistry of African Art & Craft into contemporary spaces, guided by three core pillars: Storytelling, Collaborations, and Communities. Each piece is more than just an object—it carries the essence of its maker, the echoes of ancestral traditions, and the spirit of a living culture.

Through meaningful partnerships and creative exchanges, we connect artisans with a global audience, ensuring their craft continues to evolve while staying rooted in heritage. By fostering these connections, we not only celebrate artistic excellence but also create opportunities that empower, sustain, and inspire.

Our  3 Pillars

Storytelling

Each artwork carries with it a story—woven from ancient myths, passed-down ancestral wisdom, and the skillful hands that shape it into being.

How We Honor It:

We believe in the power of these stories, sharing them with the world to create a deeper connection between the collector and the creator. Through storytelling, we ensure that these cultural narratives not only endure but thrive across generations.

Collaborations

Where tradition meets innovation, something extraordinary is born. When artisans and designers collaborate, they blend the timeless with the contemporary to create pieces that resonate deeply.

How We Make It Happen:

We foster partnerships that celebrate both the rich heritage of craftsmanship and the bold spirit of modern design. By doing so, we ensure that the artistry evolves with the times while remaining grounded in its cultural roots.

Communities

At the heart of every thriving artistic tradition is the community that sustains it.

How We Build Them:

We are committed to nurturing these communities by investing in artisans through fair trade practices, mentorship, and local initiatives that foster economic empowerment. This not only supports the artisans but also helps preserve their cultural identity, ensuring that it remains alive and vibrant for future generations.

Meet the Sourceress

Deep in the heart of the Lowveld, where the golden sun kisses the wild earth, she roams. A seeker of beauty. A curator of soul. A guardian of forgotten art.

Once an interior designer, Bianca Black heard the call of the unknown—the pull of something wilder, something more. She traded fabric swatches for ancient patterns, showroom walls for open horizons, and set off on a quest to unearth Africa’s hidden creative treasures.

Now, she wanders through markets and villages, studios and sunlit courtyards, gathering art, stories, and magic. With her trusted partner, Mike, she brings the work of local artisans to the world—one piece, one tale, one ripple at a time.

She is The Safari Sourceress.
